* HCS SS SB 681 Sponsor:O'Laughlin, Cindy Status: GOVERNOR SIGNED Description: Require school districts offer a reading program for students in early grades (up to grade 4) who exhibit a reading deficiency. The House added a pile of other provisions including lowering the age for a concealed weapons permit. HA 8 requires driver eduction courses in public schools. The SS adds provisions for public schools to have programs providing vocational training, employment training and technical education. HA 3 adds provisions allowing a student to enroll in a public school district in which the student does not live.
