Wrap: The measure would nullify any federal law that violates a person's Second Amendment rights for firearms.

Mayors Francis Slay and Sly James said the bill would make it even harder for them to protect their citizens against crime.  

But, the bill sponsor Representative Doug Funderburk said his intentions are not to make it harder for state and federal agencies to fight crime together.

He said this law would only go into effect if there was a clear and obvious violation of a person's rights.

The measure is still before the General Assembly.
