Gas prices at record high; location counts

Gas prices are closing in on record highs everywhere, but where you live can mean a differnce of as much as 25 cents a gallon, and today at the state capitol a lobbyist for Missouri gas station operators told representatives there's nothing wrong with that.

During a house committee hearing, Northwest Missouri Democrat Rachel Bringer started asking pointed questions about why people in her hometown have to pay more for gas then people in Springfield or Cape Girardeau do.

Ronald Leone, executive director of the Missouri Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association was unapologetic about price differences.

Gas watching websites report that people in O'Fallon pay the most for gas, while southwest missouri pays the least.
