Tele-scammers target MO voters

A new phone scam is targeting Missouri voters. Bente Birkeland reports.

Callers who say they need personal information from voters could be trying to steal the identies of Missourians.

The callers have contacted voters in five mid-Missouri counties.

Glenda Mott is the Lacelade County Clerk.

She says the scammers called three elderly people in her county.

Contents: "This is the first time we've had people report giving personal information to someone they didn't know."

Mott says an election official would never ask you to give personal information over the phone.
