Law Would Legalize Public Breast Feeding

Local ordinances that prohibit breast feeding in public will be lifted if St. Louis representative Pat Dougherty has his way. Karyn Dest reports from Jefferson City.

Mothers can still be ticketed for breast feeding in public in some parts of Missouri.

A House Committee discussed Representative Dougherty's proposal to allow women to breast feed in public.

Dougherty says the bill also calls for more education about breast feeding and the opportunity for mothers of children under one year old to postpone jury duty. Karyn Dest reporting from Jefferson City.
