Republican candidates for three of the five statewide offices on Missouri's November ballot said they did not think they'll face the same kind or problem as Clinton has with Bill Morris.

But they gave somewhat differing reactions when asked what they would do if -- in fact -- they had a top campaign aid dating a prostitute.

Republican Treasurer candidate Carl Beardan (Beer-dan) said he'd take appropriate action.

Another GOP candidate said he was sure he would not have a Morris type problem on his staff.

The Democratic candidates spent Friday with President Bill Clinton in Cape Giraurdeau and were unavailable for comment.
