    Description: Impose restrictions on how long Workers' Compensation coverage is provided for disability. Cease payments after the medical condition has stabilized and can no longer reasonably improve. Workers Compensation provides coverage for workers injured on the job. The final version also cuts benefits for an injured worker who tested positive for non-prescribed controlled drug within 24 hours of the injury.

    Description: The SS would provide a mechanisim to reduce workers compensation benefits by 50% if a non-prescribed controlled substance was found in the worker's system within 24 hours of the injury. It would establish a "rebuttable presumption" the drugs were present at the time of the injury. The original will would limit a current ban on an employer punishing a worker for exercising rights under the Workers' Compensation program. Impose the ban only if the exercise of those rights is the "exclusive cause" of the discharge or discrimination.
