No specialized license plates to be created according to committee chairman

Native Americans, vetrans and other interest groups won't get specialized license plates this year according to the chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee.

Chairman Danny Staples says his decision came after a license plate bill he introduced became entangled in an abortion debate centered on a "Respect Life" license plate.

Staples says he will not allow members of the Senate to make license plates billboards for their political and religious beliefs.
