State agency files complaint against gas company

The Missouri Public Service Commission has filed a complaint against Laclede Gas Company, which serves Eastern and Southern Missouri. The PSC says Laclede failed to follow up after it found a residential gas line in St. Charles county was leaking. That line later exploded, injuring a 60-year-old woman and her 9-year-old grandson.

A Laclede spokesman says that although his company admits it made a mistake by not following up on the initial leak report, even proper inspections would not have prevented the explosion.

The PSC complaint could lead to a court hearing in Cole County.

Geese are targets for Missouri hunters.

A special week-and-a-half hunting season for Canadian geese ended Monday.

The special season had been authorized by the Conservation Department. It was prompted by complaints about goose droppings from home owners in the St. Louis and Kansas City areas.
