Not all stores offer food tax cut

When the Missouri food tax law went into effect only items covered by food stamps received the cut, but restrictions on where you can get the tax-break also apply.

Jennifer Sheffield has the story in Jefferson City.

Not only will you not see tax cuts on certain items, but also on what type of grocery store can offer the reduction.

Only places that sell all four food stamp groups -- meat, dairy, grains, and fruits and vegetables -- qualify.

This excludes most gas stations and convenient stores, and some department stores.
