The last time benefits were improved for widows and orphans of Saint Louis policemen, Lyndon B. Johnson was president and man still hadn't walked on the moon. Saint Louis Senator James O'Toole wants that to change:

Contents: O'Toole says the bill would increase widow benefits from 25 percent to 35 percent and dependent children benefits from 10 percent to 15 percent.

The bill also increases retirement benefits for Saint Louis policemen. It faces one more House vote before going to the Senate. From the state capital, I'm Conrad Jungmann.
